High School Students

Living Routes programs are designed for motivated and mature learners of all ages, including high school and gap year students. Our semester, summer and January-term programs bring you out of the traditional classroom and into hands on, community integrated learning environments that give you the opportunity to:

  • Build life and travel experience
  • Engage in a course of study that will make you stand out during the college application process
  • Create a learning plan that will help you explore your unique interests
  • Get informed about the academic major that is in line with your passions
  • Cultivate skills to communicate and work more effectively with others
  • Learn about real world solutions to environmental, social and political issues
  • Develop leadership skills that will help you empower others
  • Realize and articulate your values, beliefs and worldview
  • Develop a more authentic and compassionate relationship with yourself
  • Network with fellow students and community members
  • Give back through service based projects and internships

Students on Living Routes programs receive academic credit from UMass Amherst, which is transferable to universities and colleges nationwide. Our programs are reviewed, approved, and evaluated on an annual basis to maintain the highest levels of academic integrity and health and safety.

Semester programs – 18 years and older
